SMSTS training is a five day course and many centers offer flexible arrangements for its completion. An SMSTS training course benefits the workplace with increased safety, efficiency and productivity.

Course candidates will be continuously assessed during the five day course, they are required to complete core exercises and written assignments and candidates are also assessed by oral questions and a variety of practical observations. All exercises will be scored and candidates will be required to meet pass percentages. Also, at the end of the course, candidates will be required to sit an end of course examination.

Successful candidates will be awarded with a CITB qualification. It is important to keep in mind that the initial CITB certification will remain valid for 5 years, after this period it can be renewed by completing a 2 day refresher course. You have to have previouslysat the full 5 day training in order for the 2 day refresher to be available.

Even with a good existing level of knowledge and information thanks to your previous qualification, the nature of the construction industry means that new technologies are continually developed and health and safety practices and methods are continually reviewed and improved.
